the streak was bound to end...

I thought we could get through Par's first year of life without one--but we couldn't.
Par has a cold.
He's a real trooper--but you can tell he is annoyed by the stream of snot coming from his nose. He lovingly wipes his nose on me each time I pick him up--so I too have a stream of snot, just not near my nose.

Where did he get this cold? I knew you'd ask! Of course, I have some suspicions--but it doesn't really matter--I'm sure it has a lot to do with the time of year--but if you get a nasty note in your mailbox, it wasn't from me.

His runny nose started on Sunday--but he is also cutting a 5th tooth, so I tried to remain optimistic that his runny nose was a teething symptom. But because his snot (is there a proper word?) started turning a pretty color, I took him to the doctor today. Ironically, I grabbed the mail on the way out the door and our denial letter from our insurance was in there--this isn't a new denial, it is a letter from the denial where the lady called me a few posts ago--they were kind enough to send it in writing. I went ahead and showed it to Dr. F--he is frustrated with this as well--I'm thankful that he is in agreement about Par needing the Synagis--he's still working on it, so hopefully we'll know something in the next week or so.

The three week old puppies have started trying to walk. They are acting more like little puppies now--barking, playing with each other and attacking Tiffany as soon as she hops in their box. We have one that has escaped a few times--all I can figure is that she climbed on top of her siblings and got out that way because she has been unable to do it when I have been watching. No worries, I have remedied the situation--thankfully we have a double-lock down system--so they couldn't have gone too far.
We've had a lot of questions about the puppies--so I'll answer them here:
Have you named them? No. We don't plan on naming them--we'll let the new parents name them. We just interchange endearing names (like Silly,Fatso, Lazy, etc.)but naming them will only confuse them and make it more difficult for us to say goodbye.
Are you going to keep one?
Yes. Don't tell Par, but he's getting a puppy for his 1st Birthday.
Which one are you keeping?
We don't know which one we are keeping because the sire to Tiffy's litter has the first pick--and that won't be for about 4 more weeks.
Are they all sold?
Nope. Tiffany had 2 boys and 2 girls--all I know for sure is that the sire's parents and Par are each getting one--so we have 2 left. We have a few people interested--and if you'd like to get on our list please email me.

I'm looking forward to a low key weekend--hopefully Par will start feeling better.
By the way...get in my bento (stay tuned--a few more days).

I've always found using the term nasal waste was an amusing, yet fully descriptive means of saying snot (or the dried version thereof) without actually coming out and saying it.

Hope Par feels better soon.

Why did I think that the person from whom you'd purchased Tiffany had some requirement that she sling pups (I've always wanted to use that phrase in its proper setting, but have never before had an occasion to do so...)at least once. So if it was a requirement, why aren't they getting one? (or is that the same as the parents of the sire?)

Sorry for the novel, but I must continue. I looked up bento, but all I can think of when I read, "Get in my bento" is a certain Mike Meyers character with the initials F.B.

Okay, I'm done.

Poor Par, I hope he feels better soon. Snot is no fun for a baby. This is an awesome little gadget and works better than bulb that hospital gives you, plus the music distracts.
